What a great time in Dubai.
Once again the universe is showing me that Im very lucky person. Im healthy, able to do what I love and wile in Dubai I had the chance meet new great people and to catch up with a old friend of mine that I have not seen for more then 8 years. Tiago Cortez “aka” Putxi is an awesome kiteboarder from my home town and he is now a Dubai resident. The morning after a night doing what Dubai offers the best we went down to the beach where I meet up with the our man from Best Kiteboarding in Middle East Mark Richards. For the ones that know Dubai this sounds almost impossible but I manage to kite for two days on the row with light winds as it’s the trade mark of Dubai. I also had planed to film something in the desert for a project Im working on and as we got out there the wind was blowing. So we decide to pump a kite and give it a go. Must say that, if wile snow kiting we don’t need much wind or ride with small kites as there is almost no drag in the sand is the opposite…… so we pumped the Roca 14, connected the lines and must say we had a good time. Mark our man in Dubai, James local young kiter that was there helping us filming with a drone and is dad Andrew that guide us to this part of Dubai and lead us to some awesome dunes in the desert to score an hard core session full of crashes, with a beautiful sun set that blessed us after this awesome day. Last but not least as we are packing everything as someone pass by cycling on the cycling road that follows the main road just a few meters further in land. A 4×4 was driving in the sand between the main road and cycling road and 3 other security dudes riding push bikes around. A guy dress with fancy white pants, one on the left, one on the right and one behind. I though was someone importante as the three dudes where wearing guns to cycle. This may sound unreal but as they past by, my mate Mark was incredible and told me that was Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid. I was: “Im diffidently lucky to have the chance even to have Royalty to came a try to see what am I up to” just kidding….. I’m just glad they did not pass us when James was leading the drone who know what would happen…..
